Introduction to Ikebana
(8 units) 11:00am You will learn how to choose flower materials and how to handle them, which are foundational skills for Ikebana.Then, by learning simple styles such as "rising form" and "inclining form", you will learn the techniques to create beautiful arrangements even with a small number of flower materials. The knowledge and skills learned in this course form a foundation for the entire Ohara School curriculum. Introductory Course will re-start 1st Thursday in September ( 9/7/2023) Assistant Teacher's 1st
(16units) 3:00 pm You will learn "Heika Keisha-kei" and "Heika Chokuritsu-kei" where you can put flowers in a vase without using flower holders such as Kenzan and Shippo. In this course, you will also learn various "Tomegi" techniques, such as cutting off of branches for the Tomegi. You will be able to arrange flowers in a vase according to the shape of the container, the uniqueness of the flowers and the artistic design being created.

Beginners Course
(16units) 1:00 pm You will learn "Moribana", which was created by the Ohara school. Moribana is a flower style that can be expressed in a shallow wide container while keeping the individuality of any flower material (such as the shape of the standing flowers or branches that spread on all sides of a flowering tree).
In the Beginner's Course, you will learn techniques to understand the individuality of flower materials and arrangement. In addition, you will be able to develop more beautiful expressions by developing the styles you learned in the Introductory Course. Assistant Teacher's 2nd
(16 units) 3:00 pm After learning the basics and practicing Moribana, you will learn about Shakei Moribana Yoshiki-hon-i. Shakei Moribana (Landscape Arrangement) is the Ohara School’s original expression that reproduces the natural landscape in a container. If you obtain/attain the qualification of "Instructor" then you can apply foafter completing this course, you will be recognized as having "Techniques to convey the basics of Ohara school" and you will be able to open a classroom as an Ikebana teacher.

Advanced Course
(16 units) 1:00 pm In the Ohara school, water is also an important element of the design. In the advanced course, you will learn the "Moribana Kansui-kei" in which branches are crossed over the surface of the container, and you will learn about the relationship between water and flower materials. We will also start using another type of flower holder, different from Kenzan, called "Shippo". Then, based on what you learned about the three arrangement styles of Moribana, Chokuritsu-kei, Keisha-kei, and Kansui-kei, you will learn about the "yoshiki-hon-i" which expresses the beauty unique in the Ohara
